- Bring a couple of questions of your own too — like asking how they support new nurses through training. It shows you’re interested.

No — many practices hire trainees with no dental experience, as long as you’re willing to enrol in a recognised training course alongside the job.
How much does a DBS check cost, and how long does it take?
An Enhanced DBS check costs around £50 and usually comes back within 2 weeks.
Do I need to be GDC-registered before I apply?
No — you can apply and be hired as a trainee before you’re registered. From June 2026, though, you must start formal training within 12 months of starting the job.
How long should my CV be?
